History
The Cardiff Half Marathon is a Barnardo’s Cymru led event in partnership with Cardiff County Council and the South Wales Echo. We are delighted to welcome runners from all over the UK, which shows that it is fast becoming known in the running calendar.
On behalf of Barnardo’s Cymru, I would like to thank our partners, sponsors, athletes and volunteers for all their help and support. It is only with us all working together as one team that we are able to organise events of this magnitude which benefit charities, good causes and communities across the spectrum.
The first Cardiff Marathon in 2002, raised in excess of £200,000 for over 100 charities and good causes.
The second Cardiff Marathon/Half Marathon in 2003, raised in excess of £300,000 for over 150 charities and good causes.
